The Norton City-Wide Cleanup will be held Monday - Wednesday, April 19-21. A free service provided by the City of Norton to residential customers, the City trucks will be making special trash pickups during the week. All items must be out at the curb by 8 am on your regular route day. Items put out after your regular route day will not be picked up.
All types of trash will be picked up on your regular trash route day, with the exception of yard waste, tires, and household hazardous waste. Yard waste will be picked up on your regular yard waste route day, and must be in a solid container. Twigs and limbs are only picked up during clean-up week. Tree limbs must be cut no longer than eight feet long, and fireplace ash and animal feces must be in plastic bags which are tied closed.
The maximum limit the City will pick up at each residence is one load of household items and one load of tree limbs. Lathe and plaster must be in a solid, dump-able container.
The City of Norton would like to remind the community that trash items must be separated since they are disposed of in different locations at the landfill. Mattresses, furniture, and E-waste (computers, microwaves, stereos, TVs, DVDs, VCRs) must be separate from other trash. Tires and hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, batteries, pesticides, poisons, caustic chemicals, etc.) will not be picked up and should be taken by owners directly to the landfill.
Regular household trash will be picked up on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Yard waste will begin to be picked up on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting on April 21. Recyclables will be picked up on Fridays.
